The Transformation!!!

This one is in Hindi। This is an expression of growth and transformation that one of my close friends experienced by following the knowledge and teachings of Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shanker Ji। There is a short English explanation at the bottom।

Ordinary pieces of glass starts shining like diamonds!

Lamp (Diya) with a very dim light starts spreading light in the whole world!
....
One who never even thought about the God, starts seeing God in everyone!
....
People who understand love as few relations only, starts feeling love for each and everyone!
....
One who doesn't even know the 'S' of sharing they start sharing their life itself with other!

That Looks like a real transformation in life :-)

Is break machnism of your life working?

Imagine driving your car without a break system and without changing gear!!!
You can't drive for too long. Isn't it? Sooner or latter vehicle will meet with an accident?

Why people meet with unhappy situations in life? Because car of their life is running running and running. They havn't learnt the art of applying the break and changing gear and that’s why they meet with accident.

Practicing Pranayama, Sudershan Kriya and Meditation give you an ability to apply break and change gear in your life, whenever you want. Isn’t it a great ability to have?
So the secret of living an accident free life is to learn and practice to apply break and change gear at will!!!

You ARE the cook!

Jigish bhia, myself and two other teachers (Subodh and Ujjal) are on a Government project for training farmers in Chhattisgarh!
Jigish bhai shared one nice story in this Teachers Refresher Meet in Banglore Ashram.
Two very close friends Tingu-Mingu use to eat lunch together at their workplace. While Mingu started eating Tinge joined his hand together and started praying loud “Oh God please bless me with something other than Poha today in my Lunch”. Finishing his prayers, with all hopes and expectations he open lunchbox and painfully complained “Oh no Poha again!”

Next day also same episode got repeated, Tingu prays and opens his Tiffin and eats Poha with all complains in mind. This continued for days.

Finally Mingu breaks his silent and ask Tingu “Why don’t you ask your mother to cook something else for you”. “I don’t live with my mother” replies Tingu. Mingu again asserted “Than ask your wife to cook something other than Poha”. “I’m not married” Tingu swiftly replied. Mingu queries “Than who cooks for you?”
I cook for myself!” replied Tingu.

Crux of the story is that whatever we complain or don’t want to have in menu of our life is actually been cooked by us only! Manifestation of our mind only, so what to grumble about?
Not even feel guilty, just know this get going in life, and know that you have to change it because you the COOK.

Resolving Conflict

Some people live with cooperativeness. It is good to be cooperative! but may get hit by the same problem again and again. Your neighbor places his dustbin in front of your apartment’s door and you cooperate expect more such dustbin lined up!

There are big set of people who are assertive in putting there point across. They are clear, confident and expressive but they create fight and competition. May be they are insensitive at times. I win and you lose. It does not help in long term.

Combination of Cooperation and Assertiveness bring compromise in situations of life. It's good and you may get temporarily relief in situations but solution is half cooked, its like dragging the person or situation thats compromise!

Total Cooperation and Total Assertion both going together is what collaboration is, is what solution is.
(I'll add a better quality graph in day or two)

Lets see some of the statements:
“I know what you have said is not said out of any intention (cooperative) but your words were definately negative in nature (assertive)”.

“I don’t agree with your point of view (total assertion), let’s sit together and discuss this out (total cooperation)”.

Gaining Some Physical Weight!!!

Weight Gain Tips:
Weight gain is as difficult as losing it, if you are naturally thin. Gaining weight is a problem for many people. They complain that they can't put on any weight.

Following are some tips to follow to gain weight:

You will take some time to gain the weight you need, but be patient.

  • Consume more calories than you burn. Choose healthy foods to add calories.Drink healthy beverages to add calories.
  • Eat healthy food frequently, 5-6 times a day - 3 larger meals and 3 smaller meals alternately. Separate them by at least 3 hours so you can digest each meal fully. Don't go without food for 5-6 hours after having a major meal. For example, if you wish to consume 3000 calories a day, you may eat 3 larger meals of about 650 calories and 3 smaller meals of about 450 calories. Have a balanced diet.
  • Exercise regularly for healthy weight gain. Some thin people think that exercise is not good for them. This is not true, it keeps the metabolis m high. Remember that eating alone is not sufficient. You don't want to gain fat but lean mass, so exercise is important.Resistance training exercises will help to increase your muscle mass, which in turn will increase your metabolism. Learn to distinguish between weight gaining exercises and weight loss exercises.Note that if you do not get enough amino acids during exercise, the existing muscle may break down. Amino acids come from protein rich foods.
Weight Gaining Foods : Protein is the key for the muscle mass. Without adequate protein, muscle gain is not possible because weight training demand for amino acids (which comes from protein). You should daily eat about 2.2g of protein per kilogram (1g per pound) of your weight. For example, if you are 50kg (110pound), then you should eat 50x2.2=111g of protein spread over 5-6 meals in the day. Include high protein foods in your diet. Your protein intake should be from foods rather than from supplements.Good sources of protein: whey, fish, dairy products (low fat variety), meats, unroasted nuts and seeds (almonds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds).
Milk is one of the best muscle foods. The milk contains two high quality proteins, about 80 percent whey and 20 percent casein. Whey is quickly broken down into amino acids and absorbed into the bloodstream. Whey is very good to consume after workout. Casein is digested more slowly and provides the body with a steady supply of protein for a longer period of time. Milk nutrition

Transforming Aligarh into Srigarh

It's not on the line of RSS statement to rename Aligarh to Harigarh :-) ours is all inclusive for transforming lives of everyone here with the love and devotion of Gurudev. A course in Aligarh after a long interval of 4 months with 30 odd participants mainly young students and doctors soaked in the joy and love of Gurudev. Thursday satsang spaced out everyone present, even the back-benchers (were shying away from sing) were dancing and smiling at the end. New course participants got the first taste of singing and dancing. One third day when I asked "When did you come to this planet?", one course participant Renu tersely replied "kal he to aaye us se pahle jee
thode rahe thae". Personally my cooking skills got a really boost as I got change to cook at least two meals daily. I treated my assisting teachers and volunteers with pasta, macaroni, pulav, stuffed aalo parathas, verity of shakes (coconut cheeku shake was best). All cooked in a very sattvic manner as we were all in the course :-).

Team Aligarh is really geared up for RUDRAPOOJA today on Monday as I'm heading for Meerut and team here is heading on the Path to transform Aligarh into SRIGARH.
