Purpose of life

I got few questions on my last posting from Bau’s blog on the purpose of life.

One mail questioned if purpose of life is to “Learn the Art of Living, Practice it! Teach it to others!!!” then what about my job and my family etc?

One question was “who will take care of my family then?”

One comment was, “I’m so stuck in daily mundane life who has time for all this?”

The purpose of elevator and stair-case is to make you reach home. The purpose of the vehicle is to make you reach home. If you start living your life on the pathway to your home and thinking as if it is your home than you need to wake –up. Most people today are living their life in elevators and are thinking that they have reached home. The purpose of your job, your family, your possessions is to help you do your Sadhana (Practice Sudarshan Kriya), Sewa (Teach and support teaching Art of Living to others) and Satsang (Sit in the company of the truth, sing and listen to knowledge).

So whatever you are doing for your living and your family is a mean to a purpose, is a mean for something that you have come here for and not the purpose itself.

Few lines from the latest posting on the Bawa n Dinesh's blog has really touched me, This is from Bawa's talk in the year ending advance course in Banglore Ashram, here you go:

People often ask me (Bawa) Whats the purpose of my life? Anyone who asks this question after doing the Art of Living course according to me is an idiot!

The purpose of this life is very simple! Learn the Art of Living, Practice it! Teach it to others!!! What else could it be?! :) Everyone was laughing…

For the year 2009 lets be utterly committed to our Sadhana and our Seva and Satsang… the answer to the problems that are facing the planet today are only in Indian Spirituality… Sudarshan Kriya, Meditation, Pranayama, Yoga, knowledge need to be given top priority!!

The Spiritual Mall

Finally after a long time, a posting from Monika :-)

The Spiritual Mall

I love to go to Malls. Today morning I imagined the idea of a spiritual mall.

Take a look!

The Stores:

1) A Sumeru Clinic, where a Nadi Doctor sits with all the Ayurvedic treatment facilities.

2) A medical store with all Sri Sri Ayurveda medicines.

3) A music store with all the music in praise of divine from Divine Publications and other good stuff from the world.

4) A book store with all the spiritual and inspirational books and scriptures from the world.

5) A beautiful Spa, with all kinds of beauty and therapeutic messages, Abhayanga and all.

6) A food store that keeps only naturally grown (Pesticide and chemical free farming) grains, pulses, Masalas and vegetables. Also add packaged milk and ghee of Desi Cow to the list. Only Indian brands of toiletries.

7) A mall is never complete without clothes stores. A store for ethnic wear, one for designer Yoga dresses, all variety of Indian clothes from all the parts of country, a whole range of cotton and silk dress material.

The Food Court:

1) The Food court will serve Sattvic and Rajasic vegetarian food only, The whole cooking and serving staff does prayer and meditation before cooking and the kitchen is hygienically clean.

2) An Ayurvedic restaurant that serves a Dosha pacifying meal cooked with Ayurvedic recipes.

3) A Fresh Juice parlour, Nariyal pani, Aam Panna, Nimbu Pani, Mattha and hot Kadhai milk of Desi Cow

4) A soups and salad parlour with a variety of Salads with dressings.

5) Roasted bhutta (instead of American corn)

The Multiplex:

At the top of the mall is going to be a multiplex with a variety of shows going on:

1) Qne hall is the Satsang hall, where a live satsangs goes all the time. The hall is always packed. People take a one hour ticket for Rs. 150 to sit and participate in a satsang.

2) One Meditation hall, where anyone can go by buying a ticket and sit peacefully for a while. The hall can run guided meditation sessions 5-6 times a day.

3) One hall to run Art of Living courses 3-4 times in a day and people booking their seats thru a booking window, weeks in advance

4) One hall with a big screen to play Guruji’s knowledge and people paying and listening to it.

Any takers!!!

....
.....
If YES! Then its time for you to add an Art to your living. Than you want The Art of Living.

Fight out recession

What if I'm out of the job, gives rise to the mix set of negative emotions in our system. Insecurity and fear of getting lost arises. Mind gets anxious about the possibilities for the future, what will happen to my loans, what about future plans, how the payment of monthly bills will happen? what about my family? etc etc...

Especially when environment around us is of fear, and people talk about it a lot.
This does not help our mind and body in long term. In fact mind with such state attracts more down fall.
There are few things we can do:

  1. Know that 5 minutes of negative talking, negative company, takes away the energy equivalent to 6 hour of hard work.
  2. Keep your life energy (Parana) high. High Parana mean more courage to fight out adversities with calmness.
    This you can do by:
  • Taking more high Parana food like fruit juices, green vegetable, fresh home cooked vegetarian food etc.
  • Breath is great source of life energy (Parana). Art of Livings Sudarshan Kriya not only help our mind being in state of high energy, it also makes us alert and calm at the same time. Which gives us courage and creativity to find solutions to get out of such situations.

  • If such thoughts still bug your mind, think about people who lost everything in there life like people in Bihar flood or in Tsunami. They have actually come out stronger, Lattur is much better established today after the devastating earth quake. Nature is there to take care!
Picture taken from internet of one of the village panchayat of Latur

Have faith and know that there is some-one up there (Nature, God, Guru whatever you call it) to take much better care of you and your family. This I can say with full authority and confidence as I'm full time in Art of Living sewa and not doing my high paying corporate job from last three years. And I tell you, myself and my family is been taken care of thousand time better then what I could have thought or would have done by my job.

* Through me, this knowledge is going to reach to 60lac people around the world in this lifetime.
