खेल तमाशा...

This is one of the poems that came to me during my last Advance Course in Rishikesh. Enjoy...

I'm...

This mind once tasted the highest, the purest, the ultimate joy, the bliss and the unconditional love. The deepest silent center, the nothingness of my core, the source that "I'm", the source of all inspirations.

Reposing in this nothingness, in this unbound freedom is the only longing of the mind, is the only thing that the mind desire for. Craving n desire of mind for any Name, Fame, Money, Power, Position doesn't matter, they all look immaturity of my own mind. They all have a cost attached, the cost is pain. None of these comes without the tinch of pain attached. So does the pleasures of five senses pleasure of taste, smell, sight, hearing and of touch. Falling even a bit for any of these false charms makes this mind so week and fragile.

Being in this "I'mness" is my lordship, being in this "I'mness" makes my all peripheries to merge into my center, every pain, every pleasure, everything dissolve into that nothingness. Which has infinite capacity to accept and consume everything. Which make every cell of my being so full of joy, which makes my every cell to resonate love and peace.

He-man-shu

I call him HE-MAN, he add strings to the satsangs by playing melodious chords, an always ready to serve perfect volunteers in my team in Agra and Meerut, a beautiful humble person. As YES, Part-I, YES+, YES++ graduate, he started playing guitar on his on and has really picked well on it.

On a very busy (five courses a week) week in Agra, I happen to be with He-man's beautiful Art of Living family to celebrate Rathore Bhaiya and Vimlesh Ji's Marriage Anniversary. A honest, humble and committed administrator in UP government, Rathore bhaiya never misses his daily Sudarshan Kriya even with his very demanding current role of CDO Firozabad.

Vimlesh Di has development into a Ayurveda expert by doing lot of naturopathy and ayurveda experiments on herself. She experimented many of her home made Kadhas (hurble syrups) on me and Himanshu as well to treat our cold :-)). A very natural person, an excellent cook and a great host. She is always there on the dinning table to sit and serve the meal, which adds so much taste to having food with them.

Youngest member of family, a very sincere student, one amongst the toppers in class, Deepanshi's regularity in her daily Kriya is exemplary...

It was great to be with such a blessed Jai Guredev family :-) ...

Love Anurag.

Art of Living in Meerut Youth Jail

Around 100 youth (18-22 yrs) of Meerut jail participated in Youth Part-I course. They are in jail just because they get caught. They get caught by doing some wrong acts because they are simple. So many crooked ones (living around us) also does crimes and stay out of jail. They does not get caught, but they miss on life transforming “Art of Living” program as well J

The Jail youths participation in Sudarshan Kriya and some team games was really inspiring for me! The simplicity and glimpse of innocence is still alive in them.

Here is translitrated version of press release given to the local media. Please pardon the typos:

Refresher programs...

Refresher programs aap ke AOL chapter ki energy ko UP rakhne ke liye MUST hai!!!
Ek to ye logo ko gyan se reconnect karta hain aur unke jeevan main kushiya vapas laata hai. Here are some tips to go about organizing refresher progrsm:

1- Organizing team to take a GROUP SANKALPA of a reasonable good number lets say refresher program of 108.
2- Distribute the list of participants to all team members of:
Last SIX month Part-I course participants
Last two-three Advance/DSN courses
Lets say there are 4 part-I courses and three advance courses makes the combine list to around 180 to 200. Give 30-40 names to each team member in a team of 6-8.

3- Call double the number of people you have taken SANKALPA for e.g. you sankalpa is 108 then call minimum 216 people.
4- Call with this script:
"Jai Gurudev, Main Art of Living se Seema Bol Rahi Huin"
"Jaase ki aap ne apne Basic Course ke 6 din khoob enjoy kiye?"
"Sudarshan Kriya ki ghari khushi aur shanti ke anubhav ko phir se jeevan main lana chahte hain na aap?"
"To isi ke liye hamne is Sunday aadhe din ka refreasher program app ke liye rakha hai."
"Sunday subah 6:30 se dophar 12 baje Food Sharing ke shath khatm karnge."
"Aap kuch bhog swaroop khane ke liye bana kar laye, aur ek pani ki botal aur chadar bhee laye."
"Hum jeevan ko phir se mil kar khilainge :-)"
"To aap ke liye vayavastha kara do main, Aap aa rahe hai na? YES?"
"Jai Gurudev."

Confirmed yes ki ek list sath main banate rahe.

Everyone Hearing: A good one!

An elderly couple was attending church services. About halfway through,
she leans over says to him: “I just had a silent passing of gas, what do you think I should do?”.

He leans over to her and replies:
“Put a new battery in your Hearing Aid…”

Capsicum suji Toast

Capsicum suji Toast

Ingredients for 12-15 toasts:

1. Wheat Bread

2. Suji 8-10 table spoon (125-150 grams)

3. Milk Malaie/cream (2-3 table spoon), Milk (I use and recommend desi cow milk) 100-150 ml

4. Cucumber (half peace)

5. Capsicum (one peace)

6. Green beans (6-8 peaces)

7. Tomato (One peace)

8. Green Coriander Chopped (One tea spoon)

9. Ginger small amount (as per your taste)

10. Black pepper powder (Half tea spoon)

11. White Salt

12. Garam Masala Powder (It’s a mix of all masalas in powder form, know as garam masala), as per your taste, I use approx. one quarter of spoon

13. Desi Cow Ghee/olive oilPreparation:

1. Chop all vegetables separately into small peaces

2. Mix suji powder with milk and malaie. Mix properly

3. Mix all vegetables into this paste. See that you have nice balance of vegetables and the paste. Get the medium density of the paste neither too solid nor very liquidly.

4. Mix salt, black pepper powder and Garam Masala powder in the paste

Cooking:

1. Heat tawa/pan, apply some ghee/oil

2. Apply paste on the one side of the wheat bread toast, cook this side of the toast first.

3. Now you have options of both side topping toast or one side topping toast. In case of both sides topping toast, apply paste of the other side of the toast as well (while other side is getting cooked).

4. Cook both sides of the toast nicely (The surface color should be brownish white, neither it should be blackish and too much white).

5. Serve it with your favorite sauces and drinks, I love it with ginger-eliechi-tulsi-desi-cow milk

My mobile camera could not capture the taste but tell you all children including my daughter loved these toasts.

Youth Inspired...

I'm in a YES+ course at IIT Kanpur, Yesterday after the inspiring YES+ session on parents I was thinking that in 10 years of my corporate career I attended many many corporate technical and management trainings, listened to many famous motivation speakers from Steven Kovi to Shiv Khera and what not. I tell you Rajesh Jagasia’s YES+ knowledge sessions are of world class quality, I mean its not just that your mind get bind to listen to him, every bit of what he shares actually sinks deep in. Such a beautiful practical wisdom for youngster mixed with lot of charm and humor was really a treat to be the part of.
--

Like he shared yesterday that there are two types of secretes we live with, first are “sacred secretes” like our Guru Mantra for our Sahaj Samadhi Meditation. Like Sudarshan Kriya process, these secretes should be honored, respected and should be kept to oneself. These secretes takes up ahead in life we grow. Second type of secretes are bad secretes these are the things which we feel bad about, things we did and we don’t want anyone to know about these. Like sometime you smoked, you stole something etc etc. These secrete when kept to oneself, becomes our weaknesses, share out these secretes, and Share these secretes with someone who you think is stronger like your Guru or your teacher. Become an Open Book, let your Guru know about these things which you think no one should know. This really opens you up; this really makes you fearless and strong. Then he got Pawan (another YES+ teachers sitting next to him) on the spot. “See for example Pawan shared all his bad secrates with me, including that affair he had with that elderly lady :-)).”

If I have to take time off for a day or two from very busy traveling schedule and come to attend his talk sessions, I’ll come for sure. We should organize 1.5 to 2 hour youth session where Rajesh can inspire these youth to take right direction in life. If you are inspired enough for that contact me!

Taj Ki Nagra Agra!

In my last few visits to Agra I never had time to visit Taj Mahal. On my last trip there my schedule allowed me, Hemanshu and Dolly to pay a visit to Taj on beautiful rainy day. The tomb looked even beautiful in the rare rainy days of drought affected Agra.

Here are some interesting pictures I took from my mobile camera.
Chappal management was messed as it was very crowded!
Some interesting facts about the Taj, that I collected from the net. Interesting Facts About Taj Mahal:
· The construction work on Taj Mahal is believed to be carried out by 20,000 workmen, who worked for around 20 years on a daily basis, and the cost of construction of Taj Mahal, even at that time, came to 32 crore rupees. It’s a big expense!

· Shah Jahan constructed Taj in the memory of lost Mumtaz Mahal, who died when she got giving birth to their 14h child (poor lady :-(…)

· Taj Mahal is made purely of white marble, which was brought from the quarries of Makrana, in Nagaur district of Rajasthan and It is said that as many as 1000 elephants were used to transport the white marbled used in construction of Taj Mahal.

· There is a mosque on the left of Taj Mahal, made of red sandstone. It is used for conducting Friday prayers, but there is another mosque, standing on Taj Mahal’s right hand side. Since it faces west, it is not used for prayers. It is believed to have been built for maintaining symmetry (share waste of money and a mosque :-)).

Signboard in front of Taj Toilets

· Entry fee for Indians is 20 Rs. and for forgeiners is 970 Rs. so forgieners gets complimentry services as well :-).

AOL Agra chapter is organizing a Special DSN course in the Taj ki Nagri Agra and whole gang is going to go on a trip to Taj Mahal!

Do talk about the course and send people, the course is going to be a life time experience for every particiant!

SRI SRI YOGA in Meerut

Wait, I'm Giving!

The most of the Gods, the mudra in which right hand is up near right solder fingers pointing upward and left is down near waist, and generally there is something flowing out of left hand. look this beautiful lord Ganesha picture...

In Narad bhakti sutra Gurudava explained this mudra very beautifully, he says Upper hand's mudra depicting “Wait, don’t be impatient” and lower hand is saying “I’m giving na!”. God says "Wait I'm giving". Here is an experience of my last two birthday's :-), enjoy...

June last year, I went to Banglore Ashram, two days before a program that I had to attend, to celebrate my birthday with Gurudev :-). I reached ashram on 15th, did my morning sadhana on 16th morning, dressed myself with a nicely washed and pressed Lucknow chiken kurta-paijama and reached the secretariat office (Kashchapa in front of Vishalakshi Mandap in Ashram) . Full of expectation, I sent an appointment request through Shabnam in secretariat “Guruji it’s my birthday today and I just want to be with you for sometime”. With a thought that I should get it (after all I’m a full time teacher doing so much service :-)), I was in waiting queue with other few 5-6 people on the pathway to Ganga kutir in Ashram. As my waiting had a touch of impatience into it, every time someone comes down from the pathway to the Kutir, I use to look at them with a hope. My hope started turning into disappointment as someone else use to get the call. This continued for around two hours and cumulative sum of disappointment was beyond my capacity :-).

With mind already started grumbling I went back to my room. Birthday celebration in evening satsang looked usual to me as many people went on the stage myself and Ujjal (another fulltime teacher who also has his birthday on the same day). Guruji did not even paid much attention and it went just like that :-). I started my next day applied my part-I course point (You can guess which one I should have applied :-)) , evening my mind got real clarity when Guruji shared in the satsang that “Agar main tum ko laat bhee maru aur tum phir bhee vaapas aao to tume Guru ke paas aana aya” (Even if you feel that I insulting you, I’m treating you badly and you still you come back to me, them only you have learn to come back to Guru).

This year June, I again happen to be in Ashram for an Advance and SriSri Yoga Teachers Training Course did not have any expectations or desire whatsoever on my birthday. I came to know that Guruji is meeting people in Badri Vishala in afternoon, I went in darshan line, had a very good darshan and little chat with Guruji. Shardaji from back shouted "Guruji, its Anurag’s and Ujjal’s birthday today". “Oh yes yes, we will celebrate.” Said Guruji. As Guruji prompted that, secretariat people allowed us to be I Ganga kutir with Guruji after darshan.
Few of us got to spend around few hours in Ganga kutir in His presence and you ask anyone who had experienced this, it is a lifetime experience. In the evening satsang, he pointed me and Ujjal in “Ha ha both of you come…”. And after cake cutting a group of teachers with us moved to the Ashram canteen for further celebration. And end of it, I was thinking this somewhat I desired last year and now I’m getting exactly in the same way. As I was thinking this, Abhishek a teacher from Rajasthan came running to me and said that Guruji has sent a message for you that he will you birthday gift tomorrow. Icing on the cake, more than what I expected. Next day more time with Him in kutir. He asked “Tumhari Jaroorat kaya hai” (What do you need?)”. Word came out of my mouth, “Guruji meri jaroorat to app hi ho” (You are my one and only need). He said “Oh mai to huin he naa…”, he came out with two kurtas. One for me and one for Ujjal. “Will it fit you?”. And this Kurta is made for my fitting, I love it!

And I was remebering "Wait I'm giving na..."

Lessons in traffic jam

A TATA ACE small truck was stuck in the middle of the road on my way back to home. The front of the van was stuck into a boundary wall and on the back was a slope, so driver was trying to take the truck backward as truck was loaded to its capacity it was pushed forward again because of the slope and the load. It was hitting and causing damage to the boundary wall in front. This vehicle caused a big traffic jam as my car was in the front as I could witness the whole drama.
People around got this idea of getting together and pushing the truck back so that it could cross the slope on the back. We all pushed the truck backward and after few unsuccessful attempts people started looking for other solutions. Suddenly I got an idea. To overcome the impediment caused by slope behind the rear tyres, I started placing the bricks in from of the tyres. So as truck moved little back these bricks stopped it from moving forward again. In few rounds of this brick dropping the truck actually crossed the bigger slope behind. Everyone including me got a sign of relief and traffic moved forward.
So what’s big deal into this whole matter?
There are revealing aspects which stuck me as I drove away from the jam!
I realized:
1-“Boundary wall in front and big slope on the back of a loaded truck”
Is actually like we in our life, load in the truck is the responsibilities that we carry. Boundary in front is the conditioning and boundaries created by our mind and slope in the back is the tendencies and negativities that we carry in life. Because of these tendencies and boundaries the truck of our life gets stuck at times.
2- “We all pushed the truck back and with few unsuccessful attempts”
We apply efforts in our life to fight with the situations and try to come out of it and generally effort only does not work!
3- “Bricks stopped it from moving forward again”
Same means which was as impediment, which was a stopping the truck from moving backward when applied from opposite direction it solved the problem. Same tendencies and negatives in our life when used in other direction actually becomes the catalyst of growth for our life.
And this is how I see Guruji is transforming our lives by devising the techniques which gets us out of the imaginary boundaries, limitation and tendencies created by our own mind.

Five sutras for getting out of any misery in life!

Five sutras given by Gurudev for getting out of misery in life:
THE SUTRA OF CHANGE:
Know that everything is changing. In ones’ life so many difficult situations come but all have passed so this will also change.
You have faced many roller coasters while rafting in the river of life. Just remember that you have came out stronger from those bumpy rides, this too will change!

THE SEVA SUTRA:
Think of those who are more miserable then you and help them. A group of nurses in one of my talk in Barriely mentioned that they forget about all their problems of life when they work with sick and poor people in hospitals. They said that they forget all their problems in serving the patients. One lady in Part-I course in a town named Haldaur (near Bijnor district in UP) was telling me that her going to temple and serving food to leprosy patients gives her relief from the depressive state of her mind.
THE DIVINE SUTRA:
Know that god is always with you and he is taking care of you. Share your misery with him, talk to him, and tell him everything. Your confidence of him being with you and telling him everything will take you out.
THE SURRENDER SUTRA:
Surrender is a state of mind which you achieve after you let go the unwanted stuff from your mind. “Surrender is deleting the unwanted stuff from your system” as Rishi Nityapragya says. Surrending is letting of that something or anything that seems wait and and burdon to you.

THE METHOD OF YOGA:
By doing yoga you become yogya (ability comes to you). Yoga not only take care of present physical or mental health but it also take care of miseries which may come in future. As said by maharishi patanjali "HEYAM DUKHAM ANAGATAM". Which means that by practicing Yoga our future miseries also reduces/disappears.

Misguided Youngistan

In last few days only couple of incidences in Meerut made me really sad about the aggressive and depressive tendencies in our youngster. One B.Tech final year student in IIMT committed suicide and two incidences of students using knife and attacking their mates just after their 12th board exams. The increased stress level with wrong teachings from movies, media and to an extend from current education system is not helping them at all.

I need some help here in introducing Art of Living programs in every schools. Please do talk to people around and see how we can do that. Let me know, I'm ready to talk to any body who can help us in making this part of education in every school!!!

Every children need it today, sooner the better. If you have some action plan to help this out please call me, reply back!

Get this HELL out of here!!!

As per nagar-palika's permission in Meerut, only one legal slaughter house with the a limit of cutting around 350 animals is allowed. Alone in Meerut 3500-4000 animals is been chopped off everyday, in more than 200+ illegal slaughter houses. Biggest of these illegal meat export house is been run by a person name Hazi Akhlakh, who makes crores of rupees every month from this inhuman business.

He won MP election twice, once from Mayawati's party and once from Mulayam Singh's party. No body in government machinery has courage to STOP this mixing of thousands of liters of animal blood in Meerut cities' water (Ask anyone living in Shashtri nagar area, the color of water in drain is red and whole area of a few kilometer stinks). As both Mayawati and Mulayam Singh must be getting their BIG chunk of meat! (Local news papers everyday is filled with the local administration's inability in removing these illigel killing centers)

Local BJP do raise their voice and has willingness to remove it but local hindu's here are seriously divided the caste politics of Mayawati and Mulayam Singh. To save this city from becoming hell, all Hindus should get united and vote all these demons out in this election.

Holi Rafting in Rishkesh

Last couple of years Guruji is not celebrating Holi in Rishikesh. To be with the memories of Holi with Guruji in Rishikesh, this Holi five of us (youngest member being my daughter Shradha) of Art of Living family decided to celebrate Holi with mother Gagna.

There is something about Rishikesh that I (for that matter everyone) love being in this Holy city. Rafting in Ganag is awesome experience! Here are some picture, specially the moments of thoughtlessness (which you cannot obviously see in picture :-) ) of 25 feet freefall from the jumping point.

Happy Holi :-)

Marched!

1st March 2009, thousands (mainly youngsters) gathered at parliament street for the March "Against Terrorism, Against Corruption". I was so happy to see so many youngster standing for the country. I remember in my college days I use to participate whole heartily in anti reservation march in my engineering in Lucknow. As a kid I use to shout slogans in election relies with through sincearity and feelings. Loving country and being patriotic in natural for all of us, I think with time because of stress our vision become narrow and people stop thinking and doing their bit for the bigger and wide vision based issues?

We arranged for a big luxury bus from Meerut for our devotees to participate in the march and to my surprise in a city of 20 lac only 22 inspired souls were there in the bus to Delhi.

This is ridiculous to see that lot of our middle class so called intellectual people do spend many hour in fulfilling that social obligations but they don't have few hours for nation and society. That is why our cities and filthy (look at any city of UP, very very dirty, you can see dirty meat shops any where breaking all rules) , government offices are badely unorganized and corrupt, roads and traffic is chaotic and people and generally unhappy and unhealthy.

Afetr seeing the state of west UP from last couple of years these kind of events and gathering have started inspiring more. This March was like a breath of freash air for this dieing system of this coutry.

There are so many good points came out discussed by Kiran Bedi, Darshak Ji, Prahalad Kakkar and last but not the least Guruji's oath:

1- Do their research on the candidate in their respective area and definately vote for the better option. My personal study suggests that its time for change and current goverment should go.

2- We personally do not participate in any activity that encourages corruption like paying fine (chalan) if we got caught and not get-away by bribing the traffic police.

3- Once we are practicing not to participate in any such activities we educate others. Talk about it.

Charged Balloons!

Towards the finishing of the course, on the last day of Aligarh Part-I course, the participants were sharing their experience. Every course participant was given a balloon. As participants were sharing their experience I rubbed one balloon on my head and as you must have observed the balloon get charged after rubbing and because of this charge it sticks. While playing with balloon this balloon sticks on my hand and by lifting my hand the balloon was rising up against gravity. I have taken some pictures afterward to share it in a better way...

After some time the charge reduced and balloon was falling down on the stage. Even if my hand was above the balloon it wasn’t holding on to my hand. Then I rubbed it again and holding on and rising continued. Suddenly I realized many students in the class also got involved in this play and many of em doing the same :-)…

From one angle it looked so childish game in a class of around 50 students. Suddenly a realization dawned and I shared with the class…

Our life is like this balloon and the hand is the grace of master always there to lift you up. Now a charging your balloon is like doing the Art of Living course, Seva, and Sadhana. A charged balloon hold-on to the grace rise the way master wants you to rise :-)

Republic Day @ Srisri Seva Mandir Indirapuram

In late 90s many construction companies started their projects in Indirapuram area on Ghaziabad-Noida border. Labor for this construction work were migrants from the state of Bihar, West Bangal, Orrisa, MP etc. These families moved here and were living (and lot of them are still living) in poor hygiene conditions with no education facilities. In 2002 a team of volunteers lead by Monika started a school in the slums of Indrapuram just behind Shipra Sun City.

The small step...

This is where it all started in 2002, in a small juggi with 30 children from these slums. School is one project which needs consistent commitment (at least from the teachers). Administration, financial support etc can be voluntary. Some full-time teachers joined in and organization like Cadence Design Systems, Asha Munich Chapter started supporting the projects.

The team at work...

Last few years, a team of Art of Living volunteers of Indirapuram and Noida-62 area lead by teachers Rajendra and Sonia ji are nurturing these plants.

It gave me immense satisfaction to be the part of this republic day celebration with around 170 students, 5 teachers and a team of motivated volunteer at SriSri Tapovan Seva mandir Indirapuram.

When the seeds of good deed are sowed and nurtured with the spirit of sewa, the beautiful flowers blossoms as result.

Many such schools are needed!!!

Why can't you be the part of another such inspiring script...

Back to Srisrigarh!

Sorry for not posting from last 6-7 days, in Aligarh internet availability was very limited. Both morning n evening courses and visits to Numais (local mega fair) kept us really busy.

After finishing a ‘YES’ and ‘Part-I’ course in Greater Noida on 2nd Feb Sunday, what better treat Monika and myself could have expected then getting to see Gurudev in Delhi on Monday morning. That too just after finishing one hour of deep meditation and Rudrapooja. Gurudev's as ever beautiful glance, lovely pat on the face and my few seconds rest on his soldier. Heart got filled with tons and tons of love and mind got charged with enough energy to spread the knowledge for next few months :-)

The same day I was on my way to Aligarh and Monika back home to Meerut. After conducting few courses in Noida and Greater Noida where I observed better discipline and commitment, back to same lack of time discipline and commitment of west UP courses :-)

Volunteer did a great job as it was first course in Aligarh organized completely by newly charged-up DSN team without any involvement from teachers. I stayed at Antriksh’s home and seeing the room of this youngster was really inspiring. He is working as a fresh software engineer with TCS in Mumbai. With his engineering study material, stylish goggles and usual stuff, his room is decorated with pictures of Gurudev, Paramhansa Yogananda, Leheri Mahashaia (Paramhansa’s Guru), Ramakrishna paramhansa and lot of other spiritual literature.

Amidst traffic noise, typical Aligarhy inertia and challenging group composition (as half of the group was housewives and business people and other half were AMU medical students) the first 5 days went through but last day of the course was such a deep experience of each one of us. Each participant’s eyes were filled with the tears of love and gratitude. I remembered the Gurudev’s knowledge in one of the Teacher’s Refresher Meet “Unseen is doing much more”.

One participant’s terse comment made everyone laugh and laugh “Art of living course is like Tata Sky Ad, Isko kara dala to life jhinga lala”. Will write more on last day experiences in next posting…

Purpose of life

I got few questions on my last posting from Bau’s blog on the purpose of life.

One mail questioned if purpose of life is to “Learn the Art of Living, Practice it! Teach it to others!!!” then what about my job and my family etc?

One question was “who will take care of my family then?”

One comment was, “I’m so stuck in daily mundane life who has time for all this?”

The purpose of elevator and stair-case is to make you reach home. The purpose of the vehicle is to make you reach home. If you start living your life on the pathway to your home and thinking as if it is your home than you need to wake –up. Most people today are living their life in elevators and are thinking that they have reached home. The purpose of your job, your family, your possessions is to help you do your Sadhana (Practice Sudarshan Kriya), Sewa (Teach and support teaching Art of Living to others) and Satsang (Sit in the company of the truth, sing and listen to knowledge).

So whatever you are doing for your living and your family is a mean to a purpose, is a mean for something that you have come here for and not the purpose itself.
